SUMMARY:Ram Nam Sankirtanam by Monks & Brahmacharins
DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nThe singing of Ramnam Sankirtan in the centres of the Ramakrishna Order was started by none other than Swami Brahmananda. \nRama’s name is often chanted or sung within the many traditions of Hinduism. \nIn Mahabharata\, Shiva states that uttering “Rama” three times is equal to pronouncing the thousand other names of God. \n“Ram Naam Satya Hai” (transl. The name of Ram is the truth) is commonly chanted by Hindus while carrying a dead body to be cremated. This recitation implies that the dead body no longer sustains the truth (breath) which is Ram. \nRam Nam Sankirtanam Lyrics in Devanagari or Bengali or English — \nRam-Nam-Sankirtan-Devanagari          Ram-Nam-Sankirtan-Bengali \nRam-Nam-Sankirtan in English with Meaning

SUMMARY:Srimad Bhagavad Gita by Swami Mahaprajnananda
DESCRIPTION:The Bhagavad Gita\, popularly known as the Gita\, comprises eighteen chapters in the Mahabhārata. It takes the form of an inspired dialogue between Sri Krishna and Arjuna on the battle-field of Kurukshetra. The setting of the battle-field contributes a dramatic element to the book and relates religion to the realities of life. It is that living dialogue which the discerning man finds going on constantly in his own heart between his everyday worldly self and his higher Self. \nThe Gita is one of the most important religious classics of the world. The Gita is a compendium of the essential meaning of the Vedas\, India’s Book of Wisdom. \nNo amount of critical study or hearing\, however\, will enable a reader to grasp the real meaning of the Gita unless he/she is equipped with the four qualifications laid down for the spiritual aspirant. He must possess the power of discriminating between the Real and the unreal; he must cultivate will to renounce the unreal; he must be endowed with the “six spiritual virtues\,” namely\, control of the senses\, control of the mind\, forbearance\, withdrawal from the distracting objects of the world\, faith\, and one-pointedness of mind; lastly\, he must have an intense longing for liberation from the illusory experiences of the relative world. Equipped with these four qualifications\, he may come to understand the profound meaning of the scripture. Spirituality is the transformation of life\, not the satisfaction of intellectual curiosity. It is being and becoming\, not mere knowing. Really to know God is to be God. \n~ Swami Nikhilananda\, 1943

SUMMARY:Shivananda Vani By Swami Satwatananda
DESCRIPTION:A spiritually illumined soul who has scaled the depths of the Divine is a constant source of inspiration to countless other seekers. Swami Shivananda\, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna\, was such a person whose simple conversations with spiritual seekers were treasured by them as unfailing blessings for the rest of their life. \nSwami Shivananda\, the second President of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission\, was born on Saturday\, 16 December 1854\, at Barasat in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. His pre-monastic name was Taraknath Ghosal. \nSwami Shivananda\, popularly known as Mahapurush Maharaj\, became the Vice President of the Order on 25 August 1910. After the demise of Swami Brahmananda\, he became the President of the Order\, in May 1922. The remarkable features of his character were his childlike simplicity\, unshaken faith in God and overflowing love for all. In many respects he was compared with Shiva. His faith in God remained unshaken even amidst trials and tribulations.
