DESCRIPTION:Kena Upanishad is notable in its discussion of Brahman with attributes and without attributes. This Upanishad forms a part of the Talavakara or Jaimini Brahmana. Here we get the notion of the Ultimate Reality or Brahman as the origin\, ground\, and goal of all the manifold manifestation. It lays great stress on the unique opportunity given to human birth in the spiritual evolution and unfoldment of the soul. Further\, it emphatically declares that ‘knowledge and spirituality are the goals and intense longing of all creatures’\, Self-realization is to be had in this very life\, and warns that\, if we don’t attain it here and now\, ‘then there is great destruction’. \nSwami Atmapriyananda is the Vice Chancellor of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University\, a multi-campus University trying to actualize Swami Vivekananda’s educational vision and devoted to teaching and research in a variety of unique areas. Swami Atmapriyananda received his Ph.D. from the University of Madras\, India\, in Theoretical Physics. Inspired by Ramakrishna-Vivekananda ideology\, he joined the Ramakrishna Order of monks in 1978 and was posted at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira\, a premier college of Ramakrishna Mission at Belur Math\, where he taught Physics for nearly 25 years besides serving in the academic administration of the college as Vice-Principal and Principal for 19 years. Swami Shivananda\, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna\, was such a person whose simple conversations with spiritual seekers were treasured by them as unfailing blessings for the rest of their life. \nSwami Shivananda\, the second President of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission\, was born on Saturday\, 16 December 1854\, at Barasat in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. His pre-monastic name was Taraknath Ghosal. \nSwami Shivananda\, popularly known as Mahapurush Maharaj\, became the Vice President of the Order on 25 August 1910. After the demise of Swami Brahmananda\, he became the President of the Order\, in May 1922. The remarkable features of his character were his childlike simplicity\, unshaken faith in God and overflowing love for all. In many respects he was compared with Shiva. His faith in God remained unshaken even amidst trials and tribulations.

DESCRIPTION:Ramcharitmanas (Devanagari: रामचरितमानस rāmacaritamānasa)\, is an epic poem in the Awadhi language\, composed by the 16th-century Indian bhakti poet Tulsidas (c. 1511–1623). It has many inspirations\, the primary being the Ramayana of Valmiki. \nThis work is also called\, in popular parlance\, Tulsi Ramayana\, Tulsikrit Ramayana\, Tulsidas Ramayana or simply Manas. The word Ramcharitmanas literally means “Lake of the deeds of Rama”. It is considered one of the greatest works of Hindu literature. The work has variously been acclaimed as “the living sum of Indian culture”\, “the tallest tree in the magic garden of medieval Indian poetry”\, “the greatest book of all devotional literature” and “the best and most trustworthy guide to the popular living faith of the Indian people”.

DESCRIPTION:Kena Upanishad is notable in its discussion of Brahman with attributes and without attributes. This Upanishad forms a part of the Talavakara or Jaimini Brahmana. Here we get the notion of the Ultimate Reality or Brahman as the origin\, ground\, and goal of all the manifold manifestation. It lays great stress on the unique opportunity given to human birth in the spiritual evolution and unfoldment of the soul. Further\, it emphatically declares that ‘knowledge and spirituality are the goals and intense longing of all creatures’\, Self-realization is to be had in this very life\, and warns that\, if we don’t attain it here and now\, ‘then there is great destruction’. \nSwami Atmapriyananda is the Vice Chancellor of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University\, a multi-campus University trying to actualize Swami Vivekananda’s educational vision and devoted to teaching and research in a variety of unique areas. Swami Atmapriyananda received his Ph.D. from the University of Madras\, India\, in Theoretical Physics. Inspired by Ramakrishna-Vivekananda ideology\, he joined the Ramakrishna Order of monks in 1978 and was posted at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira\, a premier college of Ramakrishna Mission at Belur Math\, where he taught Physics for nearly 25 years besides serving in the academic administration of the college as Vice-Principal and Principal for 19 years. He took charge as Vice Chancellor of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University on 4 July 2005.
